who we are

IT strategy and leadership for organisations that need it most

Independent by design

Our advice is based solely on what is right for your organisation. We assess before we recommend, and we take no commission on the platforms we select for you.

Over 25 years of sector experience

We have worked across local government, manufacturing, health and aged care, and professional services. The advice is built around what your sector is actually judged on, not a generic technology framework.

Strategy through to delivery

We provide the strategic advice and stay involved through delivery. Our Agendis team handles the technical build - one company, one contract, one group of people accountable for the outcome.

Our Story

Why I Started Cohesis

The gap between enterprise IT leadership and smaller organisations is real. We built Cohesis to close it.

After nearly 30 years working across large global consulting firms and smaller specialist organisations, I founded Cohesis with a specific purpose: to bring enterprise-level IT leadership to the businesses that need it but rarely have access to it.

Those years shaped a clear picture of what smaller organisations were missing. Building teams, delivering complex global projects, navigating cybersecurity and disaster recovery challenges – the pattern was consistent. Larger organisations have dedicated IT leadership. Smaller ones make critical technology decisions without it, often without independent, experienced guidance that makes those decisions reliable.

We exist to close that gap, working with SMEs, local governments, and not-for-profits across Australia who need strategic IT guidance grounded in real-world experience.

Our Principles

What We Believe

Technology should serve the business, not the other way around. These are the principles that guide every engagement we take on.

Independence first

Our advice is based entirely on what is right for your organisation. This independence is one of the most important things we offer, and we protect it deliberately.

Root causes, not symptoms

We do not treat the presenting problem. We invest time understanding your business properly - your people, processes, and systems - so that solutions address the actual issue rather than its surface expression.

Outcomes over activity

A technology project that delivers a system but not adoption has not delivered value. We measure success by what changes in your operations, not by what we deploy. Every engagement is framed around clear, measurable outcomes.

People make technology work

Most IT projects fail because people were not adequately prepared for the change, not because the technology itself was wrong. Adoption, training, and change management are core to our delivery, not optional add-ons.

Plain language, not jargon

Our clients are business leaders, not IT managers. Every recommendation we make should be explainable clearly to a board. If the reasoning requires technical jargon to hold together, it needs more work.

Strategies built for growth

Technology decisions made today constrain or enable the business in three years. Every roadmap, every vendor recommendation, and every governance framework we develop accounts for where the organisation is going, not just where it is now.

Our Approach

How We Work

Every engagement begins with listening. We invest time understanding your business properly before we make any recommendation. That grounding is what allows us to identify root causes quickly and build solutions that hold up.

01

Assess

We review where you actually stand, across systems, governance and risk.

02

Align

We connect your technology decisions to what your organisation is trying to achieve.

03

Accelerate

We deliver the change and support your team through the adoption.

Our Clients

Who We Work With

We work with organisations that have outgrown their current technology or lack the internal IT leadership to make confident decisions. Most are not looking for more software. They are looking for someone to help them make the right call.

Local Government

Your systems are audited, and findings have a habit of following you from one year to the next. We help you close them, not just log them.

Manufacturing

You have outgrown your spreadsheets and a system that was never built for the way you make things. We help you choose the right MRP or ERP, then make it work on the floor.

Health and Aged Care

Compliance never stops, and the evidence has to be ready whenever someone asks for it. We help you build systems that keep it current, instead of scrambling when the request arrives.

Professional and Commercial Services

You are growing faster than your technology, and nobody internally owns the job of fixing that. We provide the ICT leadership you need without the cost of hiring it.

track record

Our track record

We have worked with a broad range of organisations across Australia. Across sectors and organisation types, the commitment is consistent: clear advice, structured delivery, and technology decisions that hold up over time.

A virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) is an experienced IT leader who works with your organisation on a part-time or retainer basis. We sit alongside your leadership team, understand your business, and provide the strategic technology direction that most organisations this size do not have access to internally.

We have vendor relationships. What we do not have is vendor-influenced decision-making. Our partner relationships exist to give clients better support and pricing, and they never influence what we recommend. Where we run a software selection, we take no commission on the platform chosen.
